TrueCrude™ Software is a proprietary software utilized in the upstream oil and gas market to calculate accurate daily produced oil volumes in unpredictable process environments. TrueCrude™ assists with production reporting, allocations, and eliminates the “guess work” in allocating production by providing accurate adjusted volumes daily.
The System
TrueCrude™ software is installed in an edge controller separate from the onsite metering devices and PLC. Live meter data is transferred via modbus 485 and/or ethernet communication from the metering devices and PLC to the edge controller pre-loaded with the so ware. The data is compiled in the so ware system and an adjusted oil volume is calculated and transferred as a tag list item back to the PLC. Reports and/or trends can also be configured from TrueCrude™ So ware and distributed via email to a central location.
The Objective
The objective of TrueCrude™ is to provide Operators with the most accurate oil production information in the industry. Accurate oil measurement is extremely difficult to achieve in unpredictable process environments. There are numerous mechanical devices, chemicals, and human intervention through the entire process system that must operate flawlessly 24/7 to help achieve accurate raw measurement. This is virtually impossible to achieve. TrueCrude™ captures live Coriolis meter and facility data – regardless of meter manufacturer – and eliminates all the “guess work” in allocation while drastically reducing overhead costs and operational inefficiencies. The results of accurate measurements can be seen in the field as well as other divisions in the organization such as accurate royalty payouts, production forecasting, rapid well intervention due to production loss, reserve booking, successful D&C programs with accurate data for decision making, and the elimination of production accounting mistakes and/or inefficiencies potentially leading to audits.
The Performance
TrueCrude™ software has been installed in 30 oil allocation meters at centralized horizontal facilities in the Midland Basin over the last three years. A recent test has also been conducted in the Delaware Basin in a central production facility. Each of these scenarios have yielded 98-99% measurement accuracy per meter. Current industry standard is 75-85% accuracy with extreme cases as low as 60% accuracy.
